Summer is finally underway and I’m happy to share my latest “Three Things I’m Obsessed With” list. My June product review roundup features a fantastic new cookbook (that might be the best $20 you ever spend on Amazon), the headphones you never thought you needed and a binge-worthy Netflix series that will give you all the feels.
Check them out and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments.
No Crumbs Left Cookbook by Teri Turner
Instagram sensation Teri Turner of No Crumbs Left was a big inspiration to me when I was deciding to start Grownup Dish. She’s one of the few “grownup” food and lifestyle bloggers, and seeing her success convinced me that there was an untapped need for a slightly older audience (and that maybe “little old me” could help fill it).
Teri launched her first cookbook in June and it has become an immediate best seller. Yes, it’s full of amazing (and mostly healthy) recipes including lots of “magic elixers” that will help you elevate even the most simple meals. But, like all the best cookbooks, it’s about so much more than cooking. Teri’s always-positive voice permeates every page as she shares her love of cooking, her family and even her favorite quotes. She is in the midst of a 20-city book tour and I have tickets to see her in Denver next week.
Bose Quiet Comfort 35 Wireless Headphones
My kiddos bought me these Bose headphones as a gift and they’re the product I never knew I needed. I love to use them on planes because they block out all of the background noise. But I also wear them when I’m walking, at the gym and even around the house when I’m making work phone calls.
These ultra-comfy wireless headphones are engineered with noise cancellation that makes quiet sound quieter and your music sound so much better. With both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built in, you have instant hands-free (voice activated) access to millions of songs, playlists, and commands. The 20 hours of battery life ensures that you won’t run out of juice on even the longest overseas flight. And, if you need a little bit more, a quick 15-minute charge gives you another 2.5 hours. Plus you can always use the included cable to plug in and keep the music playing.
Dead To Me (Netflix)
I recently binge watched this 10-episode series and I’m thrilled that it’s already been renewed for a second season. It’s a dark comedy that explores the weirdly funny sides of grief, loss and forgiveness. And it features a cast that includes TV veterans Christina Applegate and Ed Asner. Side note: I am obsessed with Linda Cardinelli’s hair in this series. She’s making me want to get bangs (again). Should I do it?
Every Tuesday I try a new product and post a (brutally honest) review. This is not an ad. I have received no compensation for this post. Check out all of my other review posts HERE.
I really enjoy your blog. Full disclosure — I’m a friend of your mother’s. But I’m always curious about recipes, critiques, and opinions. Thanks for what you’re doing.
Thanks so much for your comment, Carol!
