Description

Try this easy recipe for Tinto de Verano – a Spanish wine cocktail. You only need  3 ingredients and it’s easier to make than sangria. Cheers!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) of red wine (nothing fancy)
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) of lemon/lime soda (Sprite, 7-Up) or equal parts lemonade and soda water.
  • Sliced citrus fruit (lemon, lime or orange) for garnish
  • Ice
  • (Optional) Chopped peach or nectarine

Instructions

  1. Add full bottle of red wine to a large pitcher.
  2. (Optional) add chopped peach or nectarine and let it marinate in the red wine for a few minutes
  3. Add lemon/lime soda to pitcher
  4. Stir well. Serve over ice with citrus garnish

Notes

You do not need fancy red wine for this cocktail. A basic red table wine works beautifully. Bonus points if it’s a Spanish red.

The longer it sits, the better it tastes.

I don’t recommend adding ice to the pitcher. I prefer to serve it over ice so it doesn’t get watered down.
