Check them out and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments.

Buy Yourself The F*cking Lillies by Tara Schuster

True story. In September 2018 I attended a workshop that was led by Liz Gilbert and Cheryl Strayed (two of my all-time favorite authors, and role models) The audience was full of (primarily women) aspiring writers. Throughout the two days, we completed a series of very vulnerable writing exercises and then shared them with a perfect stranger aka the person sitting next to us.

During one of the exercises, the person sitting next to me was Tara Schuster. We shared our writing. We made small talk. She mentioned she was working on a book, but honestly, damn near everyone in the room was working on some kind of writing project so I didn’t give it much thought. Tara also mentioned that she worked for Comedy Central so when I got home from the event I cyber-stalked her (as one does) and holy sh!t — that’s when I discovered that she had a REAL book deal. With a real publisher. And also a really big job. I was impressed and I started following her on Instagram.

Fast forward to March 2020 when her book launches and it is a f*cking global sensation. A legit hit. An Amazon best seller. Tara’s book baby is resonating with women all over the world – and for good reason.

In a nutshell “Buy Yourself the F*cking Lillies” a self-help book (I hate that term) that doesn’t make you want to throw up in your mouth. Tara’s funny, self-deprecating and relatable story shows how she transformed her mind, body and relationships and how you can do the same.

Give em some lip! You can buy lipsticks individually or in a set of 3.

Beautycounter puts a major emphasis on sustainability with everything they do (another reason why I love working with them). By using a paper lipstick tube rather than standard aluminum, they’re reducing our environmental impact by 83% per tube. Plus, the lipstick tubes are made with FSC-certified paper—meaning it comes from responsibly managed forests.

Love is Blind (Netflix)

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve surely heard of Love is Blind a new Netflix reality show where couples meet AND GET ENGAGED before they ever see each other.

Let me first say that I’m NOT a fan of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette because I have all kinds of issues with the power dynamic, the way women are portrayed, etc. But I’m gonna admit that the premise of this series grabbed me (and the hubby) and we powered through it in just a few days.

Despite its perplexing premise, the show is really a mashup of familiar ingredients from reality-TV land—a dash of ‘The Dating Game’ here, a tablespoon of ‘Married at First Sight’ there. But, contrived as it may be, Netflix says ‘Love Is Blind’ has been one of the most popular shows for the network since the 10 episodes dropped in mid-February. (A reunion special was later added.) From celebrity chatter in the Twittersphere to a Saturday Night Live parody, the show has captured national attention. America is all in.

Was it cringeworthy? Yes. Did it make me scream at the TV? Hell yes. Did I have weird dreams about the “contestants”? You betcha. Am I still obsessed with them? Just a little.

But, beyond being highly entertaining, I recommend watching because the series sparked so many interesting and meaningful conversations between me and my husband. What if WE had met sight unseen? Would we ever have taken a chance like this? What did we like/dislike about the various couples. Who did we think would make it and who wouldn’t (and WHY)? Lots of meaty topics to dive into.
