In honor of #NationalSmoothieDay today, I’m sharing another one of my favorite Fab Four Smoothie recipes. It’s made with mixed berries and chocolate so it’s deliciously sweet and a little bit savory. The combination of berries and chocolate is fantastic. And because it follows Kelly Leveque’s Fab Four formula, it will elongate your blood sugar curve and keep you full for several hours.
If you’re not familiar with the Fab Four concept you can read more about it here. In this recipe, my ingredients include:
- Protein – Chocolate protein powder (or you can substitute with this Collagen Peptides)
- Fat – Nut butter and/or Coconut milk
- Fiber – Hemp Hearts
- Greens – A handful of frozen spinach or kale
If you’re looking for other smoothie recipes, I’ve got a roundup post with several of my favorites here.

- Place protein powder, fiber, berries, and nut butter in the jar of a blender; top with nut milk, adding more as necessary to cover. Blend until smooth.
I buy my frozen organic mixed berries at Costco.
If you don’t have mixed berries, this recipe also works well with one kind of berry.
